LOOK! We have a Paws sighting on Bristol Pike! Paws the Lion Cub serves as the school mascot at our Elementary Campus! His name comes from our student expectations acronym P.A.W.S. which stands for Positive Words, Act Responsibly, Work Together, and Stay Safe. Paws usually spends his summers hibernating in the basement at the Elementary Campus but now he’s awake and ready for all 875 of his K-6 friends to return to school next week!

We would like to extend a big welcome to our new teachers at the IB Campus! This group of teachers spent a few days last week on campus getting to know all about School Lane and the IB Program. We’re excited for the fresh perspectives they’ll be able to offer our community this year. Please join us in welcoming them to SLCS!

9 Days Until Students Return!
Our IB Campus Counselors, Ms. Langworthy, Mrs. Chiba, and Mrs. Kane have been back on campus for a few weeks now putting the finishing touches on student schedules for the new year! Did you know our scheduling process begins in February each year in order to have everything complete by the time students return in August?! In addition to scheduling, these counselors do a wonderful job throughout the school year serving as a support to our students as they navigate life as a pre-teen and teen, and begin the process of planning for their post-secondary plans.

We know you've been waiting all summer to see what this group had up their sleeves! Ms. McClay, Mrs. Yost, Mrs. Chaykowoski, and Mrs. Kuryluk are the administrative professionals from our Elementary Campus. They handle the front desk, transportation, admissions, purchasing, state reporting, supply requests, copies, and so on. However, the biggest asset they provide to our school community as group is their sunny disposition and a costume for just about every school event! Here they are (in coordinating "Front Office Squad" shirts of course!) reminding you that transportation information will be available in your PowerSchool Parent accounts next week. Thank you all for the work you do throughout the year!

Ms. Finegan is the first friendly face you’ll meet as you enter our 3340 building at the IB Campus. In addition to running the front desk, she serves as our attendance officer for the IB Campus, and handles all of the requirements related to the National School Lunch Program application and reporting. If you haven’t been approved already, this is a great time to submit a Free or Reduced Lunch application! Mr. McCullough is the Facilities Manager at the IB Campus. This summer he is working hard to ensure that the newest buildings in our organization keep that fresh and clean feel. He’s always one of the first to offer a helping hand to anyone who may need support at the IB Campus. You’ll also see him during arrival keeping traffic following smoothly to keep our students and staff safe- even in the rain, sleet, and snow! Thank you for your hard work to keep that campus in great shape for our students and staff!

Mr. Hood and Mr. Schoemaker run the IT department here at SLCS. In addition to building and managing our network and systems, they are responsible for over 1400 laptops and Chromebooks, as well as SMARTBoards, projectors, cameras, phones, AV systems, HVAC systems and so on. We often say that if it has a cord attached to it, these two can figure out a way to make it work! Thank you both for your hard work throughout the year keeping us up and running!

Mr. Jason and Mr. Colin use the summer months to tackle bigger construction and improvement projects at our Elementary Campus that are difficult to complete while school is in session. Did you know portions of that building are well over 100 years old?! Thank you both for your hard work to keep that campus in great shape for our students and staff!
