The 5th grade students did a great job at their Exhibition this morning! They showcased artifacts they created and shared research about the Westward Expansion in the United States. They told stories of the pioneers, the challenges of the frontier, and the profound impact this time period in history had on our nation's growth. This afternoon the 6th grade students had the opportunity to hear a powerful message from Aaliyah Booker, a guest speaker from the Children's Craniofacial Association. The students learned about her personal experience living with Goldenhar syndrome, overcoming adversity, and growing through challenges. Her message is about how being different is beautiful and how important it is to treat one another kindly. We were also lucky enough to hear from her brother who was here to support her and shared a song he wrote inspired by her story.

Congratulations to our third graders showing citizenship and leadership skills during the month of November.
Every month we have a community meeting as a grade to discuss progress following PAWS expectations during lunch and recess, celebrate successes, and set goals for the next month. We also take time this to recognize students who are demonstrating citizenship who receive awards from the student members of the lunch/recess committee!
Congratulations to our 2nd graders showing citizenship and leadership during the month of November!
Yesterday students in grades 4-6 attended an assembly with guest speaker Mr. Litton from Action Karate. He talked about what bullying is and the importance of standing up to bullying. This is always an important message to revisit throughout the year.
Our first graders explored science activities teaching their families that light and dark have a complicated relationship because they are always in each other's shadows. :)
